Policy Officer (maternity cover)

Salary Scale:           £22,138 pro rata (£34,130 FTE) per annum

Accountable to:     Head of Membership

Hours:                      24 hours a week

Contract:                 10 month maternity cover (secondments considered) 1 Jan – 31 Oct 2021

Location:                 Flexible across England, home based

This is an exciting short-term role for a period of 10 months covering maternity leave.   We are looking for a Policy Officer who will keep our team and members abreast of policy issues affecting the Shared Lives and Homeshare sector across the UK, including legislation and regulation in health, social care, housing and benefits.  We need somebody who can ensure that Shared Lives Plus responds in a timely manner, provides accessible information to our members and to support the senior team and members to shape and influence national and local policy agendas.

The job has 3 principle purposes

  1. to keep the Shared Lives Plus team and members abreast of policy issues
  2. to be the voice of Shared Lives Plus (and therefore members) in policy issues at the national level across the nations
  3. to support the senior team and members to shape and influence national and local policy agendas

You will be a great communicator including having clear and concise presentation skills, as well as have the ability to work flexibly and creatively using own initiative to resolve issues. Overall an energetic and genuine friendly team member who is willing to help and support others, enjoys meeting new people and building long lasting relationships.
