We aim to put people who are part of Shared Lives at the heart of everything we do.
That’s why we work alongside six Shared Lives Plus ambassadors like Meg, below, with lived experience of Shared Lives. All our ambassadors play a key role in our team achieving our objectives, promoting Shared Lives, and working with other organisations to encourage greater partnership working and understanding across health, social, charity and public sectors.

The ambassadors’ public role includes meeting commissioners, chairing and speaking at conferences and receptions, working to influence decision makers whilst also working alongside colleagues in delivering and guiding our work.
“As we find out we can do something, we get more confident and we want to do more, then you need to ask us to do more so we can keep on growing.”
The Ambassadors also created a test to work alongside the Shared Lives charter for carers, to help talk to their scheme about what a good Shared Lives scheme feels like. Find out more here
