We are the UK’s only national Shared Lives and Homeshare experts, with over 35
years’ experience of supporting and developing shared living models.

Our strategic advice and consultancy service aims to get the best out of existing Shared Lives and Homeshare schemes, or to help scope new services, so that more people can enjoy the best quality and safest form of social care and support.

Shared Lives consultancy

Shared Lives is a small but growing social care model (30% growth in the last five years) and it’s consistently rated as the best quality and safest form of care by the CQC, so we know it has significant potential to transform individuals’ lives and society to be more connected, inclusive and human.

It can also support a diverse range of people. Traditionally seen as a learning disability service, many local schemes have grown and diversified to offer a much more flexible approach, supporting mental ill health, autism, dementia and victims of domestic abuse.

And it’s cost-effective. Results from in depth analysis we have carried out with local authorities in England and Wales show an average saving of £30,000 per person per year, when compared to other forms of social care.

We offer a range of bespoke and specialist advice and support, to help shape an informed strategy for your Shared Lives provision:

Homeshare strategic advice and support

Homeshare brings together two unrelated people to share a home for mutual benefit. It is a common sense, safe way to reduce loneliness and tackle the housing crisis, supported by local organisations and enjoyed by over 1,000 people.

We offer bespoke Homeshare strategic advice tailored to your needs. Our Strategic Advice offer focuses on three critical areas to ensure safe and effective Homeshare development:

  • A detailed exploration of your local area and demographics, which provides the basis for a Homeshare business case.
  • Setting up a Homeshare programme
  • Raising awareness – an introduction to Homeshare.
