What happens in an emergency?

Our carer support team provide individual support to carer members who let us know they are in trouble. We can advise on:

  • talking with insurance and legal advisors
  • working with your scheme
  • arrange an emergency grant at our discretion
  • safeguarding and legal claims through our partners
  • tax advice through our partners
  • advocate for your situation to relevant parties
  • Someone independent to talk through your options with, who understands your role as Shared Lives carer.

Often the immediate need is to ensure that the people you support are looked after and that relationships remain open and transparent.

Our independent support and specialist carer and scheme experience means that we can work and mediate between carer members and schemes to support each party to work towards the best outcome for everyone involved. We remain positive and seek to understand the facts, so that each party has the best chance of support, should they ask for it, through any investigation. Our caring team always offer our support, by telephone, video and where possible 1-1 meetings if you would like it.

We have over 25 years’ experience of supporting Shared Lives carers in a range of difficult and desperate situations, our carer support team are always at the end of the phone line, offering a listening ear, advice and active support for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us.
