Your local scheme supports you day to day, while Shared Lives Plus champions you nationally with independent advice, legal support, shared learning and a powerful collective voice.
Your local Shared Lives scheme provides your day-to-day support. They are responsible for:
- Recruiting and approving you to be a Shared Lives carer
- Matching you with the people you support
- Providing supervision, home visits, and ongoing guidance
- Delivering training and development
- Managing checks, assessments and oversight
Shared Lives Plus
- Champion Shared Lives to government and national bodies
- Provide independent advice for carers
- Offer legal, financial and practical support
- Bring members together to share learning and experiences
- Produce national guidance, campaigns and resources
- Create a stronger collective voice for Shared Lives
