Location:                          Home working (with frequent travel to London & Liverpool with travel across the UK when allowed)

Shared Lives Plus is the UK membership charity for more than 6,000 Shared Lives carers, 150 Shared Lives schemes and a growing network of over 25 local Homeshare organisations. Our vision is a kinder, stronger society built on sharing our lives and our homes. We help build communities where everyone lives a full life, regardless of the support they need. We do this by turning Shared Lives and Homeshare into thriving, mainstream options, with all the right structures in place to support and guide who want to share their lives and homes.

About the role

Are you the entrepreneurial strategic leader we are looking for? Do you work openly, collaboratively, positively? If so, you could join our senior management team and help us grow and develop our strategy for income generation, partnerships and embed a culture of opportunity and growth.

A short description of what you will do…

  • To provide strategic leadership to our communications, development work, strategic advice and support work, and major partnerships.
  • To develop and implement a marketing strategy and to increase and diversify our income generation and the whole team’s commercial awareness.
  • To support development and growth amongst our Shared Lives and Homeshare member organisations.
  • To be an ambassador for the organisation, generating leads and sales with senior stakeholders.
  • To take a key role in the leadership of the organisation as part of the senior management team.

The post holder will line manage a growing team including:

  • Our strategic advice and support manager
  • Our Homeshare UK team
  • Our communications team
  • Project managers for existing and any new development projects

The postholder will be responsible for delivering on income growth targets including earned and unrestricted funding as well as restricted grant funding, negotiated with the chief executive.

You will provide support across the wider organisation as necessary. Our organisational structure is currently under review so the line management responsibilities of this role could change accordingly. The postholder will attend and participate in board meetings.
