Our partners BK Plus are the UK’s specialists in Shared Lives carer finances. They provide expert advice on tax, National Insurance, and benefits, available to both Shared Lives carers and schemes. Whether you have a straightforward question, or a complex issue, expert advice is only a phone call away.
Legal advice
When difficult situations arise, schemes need quick access to reliable legal advice. Through our legal support service, schemes can get guidance on everyday legal and tax matters, helping you resolve issues early and make informed decisions.
Mortgage advocacy and support for carers
Many mortgage providers are unfamiliar with the Shared Lives model and may not understand that the person being supported is part of the household rather than a tenant. .
Our partners at The Mortgage Brain specialise in supporting Shared Lives carers. They work with lenders to explain the Shared Lives model and provide advice when carers are buying a home, remortgaging, or seeking lender consent. This helps remove unnecessary barriers for carers and supports schemes with recruitment and retention.
