At the beginning of this month, Gary aged 63 and his Shared Lives carers Emma and Andy were interviewed by presenter Rubin Reuter and featured on channel 4 news. The seven minute piece explores how the changing care needs of people with learning disabilities can be met with innovative approaches and support within adult social care. Gary, Emma and Andy live as a sociable household, they enjoy going to the pub and spending time together and Gary said ‘it has been great ever since’ moving in with Emma and Andy. They were matched and are supported by Shared Lives Oldham.
