Shared Lives can offer a safe and supportive home for people rebuilding their lives after experiences of modern slavery.
Support from a carefully matched Shared Lives carer provides stability, community connection, and a sense of belonging — helping people recover and regain independence.
Between 2019 and 2021, Shared Lives Plus worked with partners to explore how this approach could complement existing support services through our Supporting victims of modern slavery programme.
The learning from that project continues to inform our work with schemes and national organisations today.
(More information about Shared Lives and modern slavery will be added soon.)
