We commissioned the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) to conduct the evaluation of the Shared Lives intermediate care pilot programme. The main purpose was to look at the impact of the programme for people who are ready to leave hospital, but unable to return home, using data and findings from fieldwork to indicate what worked and what didn’t work for the pilot programme overall.
It includes qualitative data from fieldwork with people in Shared Lives arrangements, Shared Lives carers, health and social care professionals, plus end of project interviews and data gathered from the pilot sites.
