What we currently offer

 

  1. Pension Scheme

Shared Lives Plus operates a Group Personal Pension Scheme run by Royal London available to all employees. Currently Shared Lives Plus contribute 4% to all employees and matches any employees’ contributions above that, up to 8%. From 1st April 2019 every participating employee will contribute at least 4%. Shared Lives Plus will contribute 4% to everyone, but employee contributions will be matched by the organisation up to 8%. All employees are now auto enrolled into the pension scheme but may then opt out if they wish.

  1. Pay

Shared Lives Plus offers a competitive salary, accredited as a Living Wage employer.

  1. Leave Allowance

Employees annual holiday entitlement is 27 days plus the 8 recognised and customary public and bank holidays.  Part-time employees have a pro-rata entitlement to full time holidays’ including the recognised and customary public holidays. After five years’ service employees will be entitled to an extra 5 working days holiday (pro rata if part time).

 

  1. Childcare Voucher Scheme

  1. Flexible Working

Shared Lives Plus recognises its obligations under the right to request flexible working. Shared Lives Plus understands that members of staff may have commitments and needs that would benefit from the opportunity to work flexibly, and in keeping with our commitment to equal opportunities and desire to support our employees the right to apply to work flexibly. There is no automatic right to have your request accepted although every request will be considered on its own merits.

  1. Death in Service Benefit

Insurer – MetLife

2 x salary payable on death to nominated beneficiary.

  1. Income Protection

Insurer – Canada Life

Benefit – 75% of salary less Employment Support Allowance plus Work Related Activity component (or equivalent statutory benefit) paid after a waiting period i.e. being off work for 13 weeks. The benefit will not increase during the payout period.

The benefit will be paid for a maximum period of 24 months or until the claimant returns to work if sooner.

Minimum age = 18

Maximum age = 65

  1. Independent Financial Advisors

Shared Lives Plus has links with Beattie Financial advisors https://beattiesfs.co.uk/, and they will provide employees with an initial review of their pension with Shared Lives Plus and whether it is right for you. This is completely free of charge and totally independent. They also will do a full financial review for you – free to you (which costs £125 – but Shared Lives plus will pay the fee on your behalf). If you have concerns over your finances, pensions, savings, mortgage, etc they can help.

  1. Occupational Sick Pay

After passing your probationary period, you are entitled to two weeks full pay and one months’

half pay. After two years’ service you are entitled to two months full pay and two months half

pay.  Part-time employees will receive sickness allowance pro-rated according to hours worked.

Be restored after six months from the resumption of normal duties.

  1. Enhanced Payments

For sickness (as above), maternity, paternity, and adoption (believe it or not, not all employers do!).

  1. Carer’s/Bereavement Leave

Entitlement for all staff, assessed case by case. All is unpaid, although other options such as flexible working can be considered to help staff during difficult periods.

  1. Cycle to Work Scheme

Cyclescheme is the UK’s leading cycle to work benefit. Those wishing to purchase a bike to cycle to work and do their bit for the environment will benefit from 25% off on bicycle and bicycle accessories in a salary sacrifice arrangement. Check out: www.cyclescheme.co.uk.

  1. Homeworking Equipment

Complete a DSE assessment carried out for Homeworking, all equipment required for homeworking will be provided and at no cost to the individual.

  1. Mindfulness session

Weekly wellbeing sessions held via Zoom to help employees relax and clear the mind. There are also wellbeing initiatives on the go and developing all the time. Wellbeing week was recently held during 19th-23rd April 2021 and provided a programme of yoga, mindfulness sessions, meditation, Tai Chi and laughter yoga.

  1. Training and Development

Currently offers clear development opportunities keeping employees engaged and making Shared Lives Plus an attractive place to work. Individual tailored training such as excel courses, leadership, project and planning.

  1. Employee Assistance Programme (including mental health support)

Employees can receive free confidential advice and services including telephone counselling for health and wellbeing issues. Also help with managing debt, moving home or giving up smoking. Services are open 24/7, 365 days of the year for employee and their families.

  1. Free staff eye tests

Free eye tests to staff who are DSE users. Staff can currently use an opticians of their choice and be re-imbursed for the cost of the test.  If Staff are specifically prescribed to use glasses for DSE (if shown and proved on the test) then Shared Lives Plus will pay for the glasses. If an ordinary prescription is suitable then the cost falls to the individual.

Shared Lives Plus recognise staff who has served with the organisation over several years. More information to follow.

  1. Birthday day off

A day off to all staff on your birthday, if the day cannot be taken on your actual birthday, then it can be used within the week of your birthday. Note that this is not just an extra day leave to add on to your card.
