This document is designed to provide clarity to Shared Lives carers and the Shared Lives schemes across the four nations about what needs to happen when someone living in a Shared Lives arrangement dies.

This guidance document has been split into two parts.

• The first part addresses what to do if a person supported by Shared Lives dies
• The second looks at what to do when a Shared Lives carer dies
