Strategic spotlight: Herefordshire
In 2023, Shared Lives Plus worked with Herefordshire Council to strengthen and grow its Shared Lives scheme within a wider adult social care transformation programme.
Through targeted consultancy from Shared Lives Plus, the team delivered a full scheme review, a clear growth strategy, and a practical implementation roadmap, shaped by stakeholder engagement across the system.
The work focused on increasing awareness and confidence in Shared Lives among practitioners, helping shift reliance away from traditional care models.
As a result, the scheme gained stronger support, improved visibility, and a clear plan for sustainable growth – positioning Shared Lives as a key part of Herefordshire Council’s future.
