Cormac Russell is an internationally renowned speaker on community development and published his latest book for practitioners (Cascade Books, 2020) is: Rekindling Democracy – A Professional’s Guide to Working in Citizen Space. Cormac is a provocative and passionate speaker whose main question is: How can we help people to live a good life? Instead of trying to right what’s wrong within a community Cormac argues we need to start with what’s strong. Georgie Lee is a highly respected disrupter and innovator in the age space, leading the way in showing how cross generational innovation is central to social and economic impact. She co-founded the pioneering social enterprise, The Age of No Retirement, championing a society where age doesn’t define people. Clenton Farquharson MBE is Chair of the Think Local Act Personal partnership board, SCIE trustee, member of the Coalition for Personalised Care, and a member of the Social Care Sector COVID-19 Stakeholder Group. His other roles include being a member of the NHS Assembly, acting chair of Quality Matters, a trustee of the Race Equality Foundation and ambassador for Disability Rights UK. He is a director of Community Navigator Services CIC and a Skills for Care ambassador. Clenton is a disabled person with lived experience of health and social care. He employs his own personal assistant and looks after his 85 year old mum’s personal budget. Read more about Clenton Farquharson
Alex Fox, CEO of Shared Lives Plus, the UK network for Shared Lives and Homeshare. Members include 6,000 Shared Lives carers who share their homes and family life with people who need support and 175 local organisations. Alex sits on the NHS Assembly and is Vice Chair of the Think Local Act Personal board, leading its Building Community Capacity network. He a Social Care Institute for Excellence trustee, an Honorary Senior Fellow, Birmingham University and London South Bank University, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He chaired the government’s review of health and care charities (2015-18) and co-chairs the Social Care Learning disability & Autism Advisory Group.
