Shared Lives Plus provides specialist training for our members on topics that are relevent to Shared Lives carers and scheme workers.

Previous workshops

Medicines Optimisation (with CQC) – 7th November

Brian Brown and Alicia Robson, Pharmacist Specialists CQC medicines optimisation team.
This session will be a presentation covering:

  • The Single Assessment Framework (SAF) that CQC use to look at how providers ensure the proper and safe use of medicines
  • How to access the CQC medicines resources for providers that are currently available.
  • How to contact the Medicines Optimisation Team at CQC

There will be an opportunity for Q and A

Tax and Benefits (with BK Plus) – 12th November, and 14th November

The areas this workshop will be discussing are:

  • Shared lives carers responsibilities for registering with HMRC for tax and national insurance purposes
  • How Qualifying Care Relief works and its eligibility criteria
  • How to contract and pay Shared Lives carers so that their self-employed status and their eligibility to claim Qualifying Care Relief are maintained
  • Filling in your Tax return
  • Shared Lives carers’ eligibility to claim Working Tax Credit
  • Possible impact of Universal Credit on Shared Lives arrangements
  • There will also be an opportunity for those people who book a place at this workshop to send in any questions beforehand so they can be answered on the day
