Shared Lives Plus is committed to developing, maintaining, and encouraging equality, diversity, and inclusion, and eliminating unlawful discrimination within our workforce and shared living community.
This policy document outlines our values, commitment, and intentions regarding equal opportunities. It also and provides more details about the law regarding discrimination. Furthermore, it makes clear the responsibilities of all employees, including contractors, associates, and anyone else engaged to work at the organisation.
This policy is a work in progress. We are on a journey as an organisation, to understand our own biases, and to create a culture that is actively welcoming and inclusive. We know that recognising, embracing, and valuing difference leads to improvements for all, including a vibrant staff and shared living population, and an ability to attract and retain the very best people to support the organisations vision.
Please note, this policy was written by the Internal Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) working group, and has been approved by the senior leadership team and the board of trustees. It does not form part of employees’ terms and conditions of employment and may be subject to change.
