Shared Lives is a person-centred, cost-effective form of social care.
The fees and contributions provided to Shared Lives carers should reflect their dedication, and the quality of their care and. Furthermore, how much a Shared Lives carer receives for the care they offer should not differ widely based on geographical location.
To tackle these challenges, Shared Lives Plus has collected data from both Shared Lives carers and Shared Lives schemes. The information in this report sheds light on the state of Live-in fees and contributions at the regional level.
Although predominantly aimed at Shared Lives and Shared Lives carers, we hope this report will also be of use to commissioning organisations and others.
In this report, you will find specific information about the highest and lowest average care and support fees for live-in arrangements, as well as the average board and lodgings contributions. You will find recommendations for commissioning organisations about what rates to aim for to improve these fees and contributions, to match or exceed regional and national levels.
