Ouma, Drusilla and Sandra, along with the people they support, were invited to the prestigious event, joined by Rebecca Day, our Membership Engagement & Support Officer, and Suzi Clark, Head of Strategic Advice (pictured).

Each year, more than 30,000 guests enjoy a relaxed summer afternoon in the beautiful gardens of Buckingham Palace or the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland. Garden Parties offer members of the Royal Family a chance to meet a broad cross-section of people who have made a positive impact in their communities.

Suzi said: “We had a wonderful day at Buckingham Palace. The weather was beautiful, and the cakes were exquisite. Our Shared Lives carers – Ouma, Drusilla and Sandra – looked fabulous, and we all had a truly unforgettable day.”

Ouma said: “It was lovely to meet everyone. M and I had an amazing day and made great memories.”

Ewan King, Chief Executive at Shared Lives Plus, said: “It’s a real joy to see Shared Lives carers recognised at such a prestigious event. Their care, compassion and commitment make a difference every single day – often quietly, often behind closed doors – so to see them celebrated in this way is incredibly well-deserved. We’re proud of each and every one of them.”
