The ongoing cost of living crisis is hitting everyone hard. And with signs that energy bills are likely to become even more expensive as we head into autumn and winter, we want to make sure that we’re doing everything that we can to support our members, and the people who live with or visit a Shared Lives carer.
We have added a new section to the website, that brings together relevant information and guidance – including moneysaving tips, and guidance on the options available to Shared Lives schemes for handling the cost of living grants awarded to many people supported by Shared Lives.
We will update this page whenever new information becomes available, or we have advice or news to share from elsewhere in the Shared Lives community. We are keen to hear from any members who have ideas that could benefit other Shared Lives schemes and Shared Lives carers. Members are encouraged to keep us updated about anything that we can pass on, via the google groups (for scheme members) and email: membership@sharedlivesplus.org.uk
If you are a carer member who is struggling and you need some extra support and advice – don’t forget about our Shared Lives carer Champions and the carer helpline.
Our Champions are all experienced Shared Lives carers, so they have first hand knowledge of a lot of the things you may be going through. You can call them for help with a specific problem, or just to have someone to talk to who understands what you are going through. Call the helpline on 0151 227 3499 and one of our Champions will call you back as soon as they can.
