Finding a way through grief – the Loss Project

Christmas can be a difficult time of the year and we’re supporting The Good Grief Trust’s campaign to #spreadthewarmth this year. It can be a very lonely and long road when you’re bereaved and we’re still not very good at addressing it or knowing what to do or say.

The Loss Project has put together a range of new resources and events for this years campaign to share with you. Whether you’re bereaved or you know someone is, what a great way of showing people that you care and are thinking of them.

Christmas can be an especially tough time of year with extra merriment, social pressures and collective fatigue which is heightened when you are grieving. We think that creativity, connection and community are magic ingredients to support us all when we are grieving and have created a number of resources to support people across the UK this festive season.
FREE Advent Calendar ‘Seasons Griefings’: well being, and self care combined with messages of love and hope behind every door in the run up to Christmas – https://thelossproject.adventcalendaronline.com/
Creative Bubble Kits: Tailored writing activities to support personal reflection for anyone experiencing grief and loss. An amazing well being gift for you, or for someone you know who is grieving but you just don’t know what to say or do: https://www.thelossproject.com/product-page/creative-bubble-writing
Remembering Moments: A resource with all you need to run a community remembrance or memorial event. Perfect for small groups, organisations and community networks who want to encourage connection in their own communities and to show the bereaved that we want to stand with them as they remember their loved ones. https://www.thelossproject.com/product-page/remembering-moments-community-memorials
FREE Community Support event 7th Dec 6-7.15pm: Share, connect or just be with people who get it. A welcoming and friendly space that is open to everyone. https://www.thelossproject.com/event-details-registration/december-community-loss-and-grief-group

In every case where grief and praise are still honored, there is one aspect that remains the same with all people: grief, even for an individual’s loss, is a thing for which a lot of people are necessary. – Martín Prechtel

We love this quote and want to invite you all to find love, hope and joy even whilst experiencing the pain and challenges of grief; connection, community and creativity are all ways that we bring this to life.

How can you help?

Does your workplace, network, organisation have a newsletter we could promote in? Please get in touch to hello@thelossproject.com to help us #spreadthewarmth this National Grief Awareness Week.
