This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead a Shared Lives scheme in Barnet.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to achieve our ambitious plans around establishing and quickly expanding a Shared Lives scheme for Barnet.

Shared Lives provides long-term, short breaks and day support arrangements to adult with care and support needs within the ordinary homes of Shared Lives carers, and within their local communities. In Barnet we will be focusing first on people with learning disabilities, and then expanding to others.

As Barnet’s Shared Lives scheme manager you will be responsible for:

  • setting up and registering the new scheme and promoting with stakeholders
  • recruiting, assessing, monitoring and supporting Shared Lives carers
  • managing new referrals to the service,  assessing individuals and matching them with potential Shared Lives carers
  • coordinating and managing a diverse caseload, closely supervising Shared Lives carers
  • working with the individuals, their families, other professionals and a wide variety of stakeholders

This will be a really rewarding role and we are looking for someone who is:

  • Strength-based, person-centred and inclusive in their practice
  • A strong leader, able to persuade, influence and enthuse people about Shared Lives
  • Able to set and work towards high standards, and empower others to do the same
  • Passionate about enabling people to live fulfilling lives
  • Able to work flexibly on different areas of service delivery, from marketing and communication, to supporting Shared Lives carers, to ensuring compliance with CQC regulations
