Awards 2022

So many of you have given so much in recent months, and the shared living awards are just one small way to say big thank you on behalf of everybody who has made a massive difference this year.

Do you know someone who you’d love to celebrate?

Nominations must be supported by three other people:

  • For nominees for Shared Lives Awards
    • A Shared Lives carer
    • A Shared Lives scheme worker
    • Someone who lives with or visits a Shared Lives carer
  • For nominees for Homeshare Awards
    • A Homeshare householder or homesharer
    • A Homeshare programme worker
    • Someone from an external organisation (e.g. local council, NHS trust, or referring organisation)

Outstanding Shared Lives carer of the year

Awarded to a Shared Lives carer who has gone above and beyond to improve outcomes and community connections for those they support.

 

The human rights award for free expression

The human rights award for free expression – awarded to a person supported by a Shared Lives carer for speaking their mind, growing in confidence and living the life they choose.

The judging panel are looking for people who may have:

  • Surprised their Shared Lives carer
  • Learnt to express their views even when others don’t agree
  • Developed a new skill, hobby or passion
  • Made friends and connections with their community
  • Fulfilled a lifelong ambition

 

Shared living champions (in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland)

There are four awards up for grabs here for the individuals who have most promoted Shared Lives, Homeshare or Family by Family in their area.

Nominees could be:

  • Shared Lives carers
  • Shared Lives scheme workers
  • Homeshare programme workers
  • Homeshare householders or homesharers
  • Families, friends or supporters

The judging panel are looking for people who have made a measurable difference, for instance by:

  • building stronger community connections
  • recruiting more carers
  • raising the profile of their scheme or programme
  • developing more commissioner support
  • engaging social prescribers

 

The innovation award

The innovation award is given to the Shared Lives scheme, or Homeshare programme, that has taken an innovative approach to developing, improving, or expanding its service.

This could include adapting their work to support more people, making significant improvements to their practice, or exploring ways to support new groups of people with Shared Lives or Homeshare.

 

Nominations for all awards must be received by midday on Monday 25th July 2022.

Award winners will be announced during the 2022 Shared Lives Plus conference on October 13th – we will contact winners in advance.
