We are looking to recruit a Membership Engagement and Support Officer to manage the delivery of support to Shared Lives carer members. This important role will also improve our membership offer and promote membership of Shared Lives Plus to Shared Lives carers across the four nations.

Ideal candidates will have the proven ability to prioritise work, organise information and forward plan. You will be self-motivated, adaptable, and ready to get ‘hands on’ with a range of different tasks. Job Objectives

The overarching objectives of this role are to:

  • Co-ordinate and manage delivery of Shared Lives carer support
  • Develop and continuously improve Shared Lives Plus membership

Help raise awareness of, and increase engagement with, Shared Lives Plus membership

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Co-ordinate and support delivery of Shared Lives carer support

  • Provide diplomatic written and spoken communication to resolve problems and conflicts which affect Shared Lives carer members
  • Work closely with the Shared Lives Scheme Support Officer to reach resolutions where required
  • Liaise with third-party stakeholders which may include, but are not exclusive to, health care professionals, regulatory bodies, and government bodies, as well as our legal and insurance partners
  • Keep accurate records of membership activity, providing regular verbal and/or written reports and information
  • Communicate with colleagues in the Membership team to keep abreast of any changes to policies in relation to Shared Lives carer members, and disseminate where appropriate

2. To develop and continuously improve Shared Lives Plus membership

  • Support the development and promotion of an online outcome measuring tool
  • Support the promotion of the Shared Lives Quality framework
  • Help to identify the needs of Shared Lives carers to create new resources and services, such as guidance and training
  • Proactively engage with our Shared Lives carer members in groups and via our online forums to ensure they are satisfied with our membership offer

3. Help raise awareness of, and increase engagement with, Shared Lives Plus membership

  • Work with colleagues in the Membership team to improve recruitment, renewal, and retention of existing members
    • Record and report on the results of renewal and retention activity to provide timely and accurate information
    • Use CRM for segmentation to support retention and identify opportunities to grow Shared Lives carer membership
  • Actively promote the Shared Lives membership benefits by providing regular content for the Shared Lives Plus website, Sharing magazine, and Shared Lives carer bulletin
  • Act as a project officer for annual conferences, seminars, and meetings
    • Engage with Shared Lives members through delivery of talks, briefings, meetings, and workshop
  • Where appropriate, work with colleagues from the Membership team to promote the Shared Lives model to prospective participants and external stakeholders

4. General

  • Work in accordance with Shared Lives Plus aims, objectives, policies, and procedures and promote a positive image of the organisation and its members
  • Engage in continuous self-development and training

Person specification:

  •  Have significant relevant experience and transferable skills that you can demonstrate
Experience and skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to produce high quality, plain English copy for reports, bulletins, magazine articles etc
  • Good presentation skills, ability to represent Shared Lives Plus through talks, webinars etc
  • Strong attention to detail, able to maintain accurate records and navigate data
  • Personable, able to engage confidently and constructively with Shared Lives carers
  • Highly organised and flexible, able to self-manage to meet tight deadlines and prioritise workloads
  • Ability to develop and maintain good internal and external relationships and partnerships
  • Professional approach to Shared Lives carer relations, able to deal with confidential issues, identify needs and take an innovative approach to solutions
  • Efficient approach to resolving issues which impact Shared Lives carers
  • Experience of day-to-day delivery of a project
  • Preferable experience of recruitment and or/retention in a membership context
  • Experience of using CRM databases
  • An understanding of the Shared Lives model and the philosophy underpinning our work and the sector
  • An understanding of the work, needs and rights of Shared Lives carers
  • Demonstrable knowledge/experience of conflict resolution and or/ crisis management
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Shared Lives carers
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and the ability to recognise and respond to significant risk
  • Understanding of quality assurance and safeguarding practice in adult social care
  • A good working knowledge of all Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint)
